On-loan winger Jermaine Pennant is desperate to secure a permanent move to Stoke City from Spanish outfit Real Zaragoza.

The 27-year-old has impressed since heading to the Britannia Stadium and would relish a full-time return to the Premier League.

He told The Sentinel:"I'm enjoying myself and the way things are going here – if the two clubs can agree something in January then I'll be more than happy to put pen to paper.

"The manager has given me that platform to go and do what I can do. He's told me he wants work-rate off his wingers. He says they work harder than at any club in the league.

"If I can do that to help out the team, then brilliant.

"I love it. When the crowd gets going here it's brilliant. It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.
